Taboola to Buy Dianomi in Finance Ad Network Play

Taboola's Dianomi deal adds 600+ finance advertisers and premium publishers like Reuters and WSJ to its Realize platform.

Taboola’s Finance Ad Network Bet

What’s happening

Taboola has made an offer to acquire London-based Dianomi, a native advertising network built around finance and business content. The announcement came on September 18, 2026, with a plan to fold Dianomi into Taboola’s Realize performance advertising platform. The deal is expected to close before the end of 2026, subject to regulatory clearance and shareholder approval.

No purchase price was disclosed in the version of the announcement reviewed. What is clear is the strategic shape: Taboola is buying depth in one vertical rather than adding another broad reach play.

Why finance, why now

Dianomi connects more than 600 advertisers and publishers, including names such as Charles Schwab, Invesco, Bank of America, Reuters, CNN Business, The Times and The Wall Street Journal. That publisher roster is the real signal. Finance advertisers typically need brand-safe environments and contextual relevance; a retirement ad next to market news makes more sense than the same ad next to entertainment content.

Taboola already has scale. The company says Realize reaches over 600 million daily active users through publishers including NBC News and Yahoo. But finance is a high-trust, high-compliance vertical where curated publisher relationships often beat open programmatic reach.

The Realize integration

Taboola CEO Adam Singolda framed the deal as a complement to its performance platform, arguing that Dianomi’s focus on business and finance audiences will add a highly curated, trusted network for Realize advertisers.

This follows a familiar pattern. In 2021, Taboola acquired Connexity for roughly $800 million to add e-commerce media relationships. After a difficult Q2 2026, when revenue of $476.8 million missed guidance after a Google policy change removed the Explore More product, Taboola accelerated its shift toward quality publisher relationships and verticalized sales teams.

What marketers should watch

  • New finance inventory: If you run advertising for banks, fintechs or investment platforms, watch how Dianomi’s publisher placements migrate into Realize.
  • Pricing risk: Minimums or CPMs may shift as two networks combine, especially with premium titles like Reuters and the Wall Street Journal in the mix.
  • Contextual advantage: Use the window to test native finance campaigns against business content before more buyers enter the curated pool.
  • Consolidation signal: Vertical networks in high-trust categories may become acquisition targets, especially for public ad-tech companies under revenue scrutiny.

The marketer’s takeaway

The framework here is buy versus build. Taboola already owned the audience graph; it did not own enough finance-native trust signals. Rather than spend years signing financial publishers one by one, it bought a specialist with existing relationships and compliance-ready context.

For growth teams, the same logic applies to campaign planning: in finance, insurance and B2B verticals, a smaller curated inventory set often converts better than a massive open audience. Watch the integration timeline, then test early access to newly combined premium supply before the rest of the market catches up.
