Adweek’s 2026 Agency of the Year Shortlist Is Here

Adweek has named the agencies in the running for its 2026 Agency of the Year awards. Here’s who made the cut and why marketers should care.

Adweek's 2026 Agency of the Year Shortlist Is Out

Adweek just published the shortlist for its 2026 Agency of the Year awards, the flagship program that tracks where the industry’s best creative, media and innovation work is coming from.

The 2026 shortlist at a glance

The list spans ten competitive categories. Here are the nominees in each.

  • Global Creative: 72andSunny Creative Collective, Gut, Mother, VCCP, VML

  • Independent Media: Arm Candy, BarkleyOKRP, Noble People, PMG, Tinuiti

The Multicultural Agency of the Year winner will be announced in the December issue.

Why this list matters beyond trophies

For D2C founders and growth teams, the shortlist is more than agency back-patting. It is a useful signal of which shops are winning with culture and performance.

A few names appear in more than one category, which usually means the momentum is not a one-client or one-channel story. Loop shows up in small, breakthrough and creator/influencer. Mischief @ No Fixed Address lands in midsize and independent. VCCP spans global and independent, while Tinuiti appears in both media categories.

There is an honest argument about whether awards shortlists predict partner performance. Shortlist watchers say momentum; skeptics say lagging vanity. The practical take is to use it as a starting watchlist, not a final verdict.

How to use the shortlist this week

Pull two or three shortlisted agencies and study the work that landed them here. If you are a brand, that is a ready filter for your next pitch. If you run an agency, it is a benchmark for the creative, retention and innovation bar you are measured against.

The real reveal arrives on December 8, when ADWEEK publishes the gold, silver and bronze winners in its December issue.
