Google DigiPivot 2026 Opens: 2,000 Seats, AI Now Core

Google's DigiPivot 2026 opens with 2,000 seats and AI baked into the curriculum. Who's eligible, what's changed, and how marketers should use it.

Google DigiPivot 2026 Opens With AI At Its Core

Google has opened applications for DigiPivot 2026, and this edition is a different animal from the ones before it. The upskilling program is scaling to a cohort of 2,000 early-career professionals — five times the size of the 2024 batch — and artificial intelligence is now baked into the curriculum as a core subject rather than a bolt-on module.

For anyone building a career in digital marketing in India, that combination of scale plus AI is worth paying attention to.

What’s actually new this year

DigiPivot launched in 2020 and has trained 800 women professionals so far, including 400 in the 2024 cohort. The 2026 edition widens the funnel dramatically and repositions the program around AI fluency alongside the digital, leadership and problem-solving skills it has always taught.

Madhuri Duggirala, Vice President, gTech Ads, framed the shift around how quickly the conversation has moved on. She noted that more than 80% of employees in India already use AI at work, and said the question is now less about whether people will use AI and more about “how well they can use it.”

Her point about the goal is the one marketers should sit with: helping people use AI to extend their capabilities — learn faster, solve harder problems, ship more — while still bringing the judgment, context and creativity that good work demands.

Who can apply

  • Recent graduates and professionals with up to five years of full-time work experience
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
  • Applications are open now, with the reported closing date of 22 September
  • Cohort size: 2,000 participants

Why this matters for growth teams and agencies

Two things are happening at once in performance marketing hiring. Entry-level execution work — pulling reports, writing ad variants, building keyword lists, drafting product copy — is exactly the layer that AI tools now handle in seconds. At the same time, agencies and D2C brands are desperate for juniors who can actually think in systems: understand incrementality, read a Performance Max report critically, and know when the model is confidently wrong.

A program that pairs Google-native platform training with structured AI skills is aiming squarely at that gap. If you run a team, this is a signal about the skill profile you should be hiring and training for in 2026 — not “can you operate the tool” but “can you direct the tool and audit its output.”

A simple framework for AI-era marketing skills

Whether or not you get into DigiPivot, use this three-layer model to plan your own upskilling — or your team’s:

  1. Operate. Prompting, tool selection, workflow automation. This is table stakes and it commoditises fastest.
  2. Judge. Knowing what a good creative brief, a valid test design or a trustworthy attribution read looks like — so you can spot when AI output is plausible but wrong.
  3. Direct. Framing the business problem, choosing what to measure, and connecting channel work to margin and LTV. This is where careers compound.

Most junior marketers over-invest in layer one because it feels productive. The people who move fastest are the ones who deliberately build layers two and three while everyone else is collecting prompt templates.

What to do this week

If you’re within five years of graduating and working in or around marketing, apply — the ROI on a free, structured, Google-run program with a 2,000-person cohort is hard to beat, and the alumni network alone is worth the application time.

If you’re a hiring manager, point your junior team at it, then build an internal version of the same idea: one live account, one AI-assisted workflow, one weekly review where the human explains why they overrode the machine. That habit is the actual skill.
