A rare badge, with a timing question
Adswerve announced on September 29 that Adobe had granted it the Real-Time CDP specialization, a credential Adobe issues after checking a partner’s real client work and staff certifications. The consultancy, best known for its Google Marketing Platform work, says the badge formalizes more than three years of Adobe Customer Journey Analytics delivery.
The credential is scarce. An August 9 snapshot of Adobe’s partner directory, republished by WISLR, shows only 21 Platinum and Gold partners holding the specialization—15 Platinum and six Gold. Adswerve appears among the six, which suggests the badge was already on Adobe’s books roughly seven weeks before the announcement. A lag between a credential being recorded and publicised is common, but it weakens the fresh-award framing.
What Real-Time CDP actually does
Real-Time CDP runs on Adobe Experience Platform, combining web, app, CRM and offline data into unified profiles. The key step is identity resolution: treating a hashed email, an app device ID, a loyalty number and a cookie as one person. Those profiles can then be activated in real time across email, on-site personalization and advertising destinations.
For Adswerve clients, the pitch is a move away from fragmented, channel-by-channel marketing toward a single view of the customer journey. That is compelling, but the release names no client example showing the result.
What the badge does and doesn’t prove
Adobe opened the specialization in May 2023 with a requirement for three successful customer references. Partner rules also require Silver, Gold or Platinum membership and valid certifications. Adswerve’s release carries an Adobe Gold Solution Partner mark, one tier below Platinum, and names two Adobe Champions—Sara Hanrahan and Josh Stephens—but no region, no deployment size and no outcome metrics. The same snapshot also lists an existing Adobe Analytics specialization, which the release headline omits.
The badge is therefore a screening signal rather than proof of ROI. It tells buyers Adobe has checked references at some point; it does not publish what those references achieved.
One team across Adobe and Google
The commercial logic sits at the junction between Adobe’s customer data layer and Google’s media pipes. Adswerve was an early integration partner for Google’s Data Manager API and became a North American GCS Implementation Partner in June 2026. The firm reports a 9 to 18 percent measured conversion uplift from tag gateway work, its own figure.
Chief executive Tom Zawacki calls Real-Time CDP “one of the best platforms in our data solutions toolkit” and promises “significant ROI” when it is combined with Customer Journey Analytics and Journey Optimizer—without attaching a number.
Coworker changes the consulting job
The forward-looking element is Adobe CX Enterprise Coworker, an agent product that assembles audiences, pulls creative assets and drafts journey plans. Adswerve says it already uses the tool. But the release and a LinkedIn post by Adobe Champion Sara Hanrahan describe different control models: a single human sign-off before anything goes live, versus marketers approving every step.
That distinction matters. If consultancies are becoming supervisors of agent-built journeys, brands need to know what gets logged, who reviews intermediate choices, and who is accountable when an approved plan misfires.
Questions to ask before you sign
- How many Real-Time CDP deployments has the partner completed, and in which region?
- Does the firm hold related Adobe specializations such as Analytics and Journey Optimizer?
- Which approval model—one gate or step-by-step—applies to Coworker-built journeys?
For advertisers running Adobe for customer data and Google for media, Adswerve’s dual credentials make it a serious shortlist candidate. The badge just doesn’t tell you whether the work worked.
