The hook
Instead of opening on coverage maps or speed tests, the film leads with the threat. The first three seconds place the viewer inside a scam attempt, then cut straight to the network acting on their behalf. That reversal is the hook: Airtel is not asking the customer to be careful, it is showing protection already running. No brand introduction, no feature lecture.
The structure
The film moves from individual risk to visible proof. It presents three layers of protection as one record: scam alerts received, unsafe links blocked, and OTP fraud alerts sent. That structure turns invisible network actions into a customer-facing document. The build is cumulative — identify the risk, block it, alert the user, then total it up. The report is the payoff, not the promise.
The idea and the brief
Fundamental built the film around the Airtel Safe Report, a personalised log of what the network has done against scams targeting an individual. The report is visible to all users on the Airtel app.
The report draws on three services Airtel has introduced since 2024. In September 2024, Airtel started screening calls and SMS in real time across more than 250 parameters and sending an “Airtel Warning” when a suspicious call or message arrives. In early 2025, it extended protection to malicious links across WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, email, browsers and SMS, so the page does not open even if the customer clicks. The third service, Fraud Alert, was announced on 11 February 2026: when a customer receives a bank OTP during a risky incoming call, Airtel sends an alert before the OTP is delivered.
Pallavi Chakravarti, Founder & CCO at Fundamental, gave the brief its spine: “In a world where everyone puts the burden of vigilance on the consumer, here’s a brand that actually DOES something about the problem.” Fundamental has worked on Airtel’s earlier anti-scam campaigns, including “The Safe Network” from May 2025, built around the line “Kuch Nahi Hoga,” and the “Safe Second Account” campaign for Airtel Payments Bank.
Where it is running
The Safe Report is live in the Airtel app for all users, with no separate app or additional charge. The newest layer, Fraud Alert, went live first in Haryana before a phased nationwide rollout. The film works as the launch vehicle for that report, putting the utility front and centre.
Steal this
Three moves for a smaller brand:
- Turn backend protection into a user-facing record. If your product works in the background, show a personalised total; the visibility is the marketing.
- Lead with the threat, not the tech. Open the story on the risk your customer recognises, then reveal the action.
- Bundle separate features into one proof point. Three services become a stronger message when they roll into a single report.
