Google Marketing Platform advertisers are about to see a different conversion count in their reports — and they won’t need to change a thing. The “Coming soon: Display & Video 360 updates in Q4 2026” page, last updated 16 October 2026, lists three November changes. The biggest one quietly reshapes Floodlight measurement.
What’s changing in November
- Floodlight: Google signed-in data signals will help recover previously unattributed cross-device and cross-environment web conversions across Display & Video 360, Search Ads 360 and Campaign Manager 360.
- Brand Control Center: The advertiser-level page is being deprecated because the same settings now live under Advertiser settings > Targeting rules.
- Amerilink: The audience provider dimension is being renamed Open Audiences in Data Onboarder reporting.
Google gives each item the month only, with no specific day, and says none of the three requires action from advertisers.
The Floodlight change is the one to watch
Floodlight is the conversion tag system sitting under Google Marketing Platform. The new input is not advertiser-uploaded offline data; it is Google’s own knowledge of people signed in to Google accounts.
A cross-device conversion could mean an ad seen on a phone and a purchase made on a laptop. A cross-environment conversion crosses between an app and a web browser. Google limits this change to web conversions, so the conversion itself has to happen on a website, even if the ad exposure started in an app.
Why your baselines will move
For buyers using Display & Video 360 and Campaign Manager 360, Floodlight counts are often the reference numbers in client reports, bid strategies and platform comparisons. If Google attributes more conversions using a signal only it holds, a rise may be measurement, not better media.
That creates a comparison problem. A buyer benchmarking Display & Video 360 against another demand-side platform through a neutral ad server could see Google’s numbers move for reasons unrelated to media quality.
What to do before November
Google says no action is required. But reporting hygiene is on you.
- Capture a current Floodlight conversion baseline.
- Label dashboards as pre- or post-November so the change is not read as performance.
- Ask your rep whether recovered conversions are observed or modelled, whether they appear separately, and whether they feed automated bidding.
Google’s help page does not answer those questions, and it also does not mention regions or whether EEA reporting is affected. One way to keep teams honest is to treat metric-definition changes as annotation events, not performance events.
The two smaller updates
The advertiser-level Brand Control Center page goes away because brand safety settings now apply at advertiser level across all line items after the 1 October consolidation. Partner-level controls remain, and existing protections and delivery are unaffected.
Separately, the audience provider dimension Amerilink will appear as Open Audiences in Data Onboarder reporting. Campaign delivery and audience functionality won’t change, but a report spanning the switch could show two labels for the same provider.
