UNIQLO’s Fleece film pairs Kriti Sanon & Bumrah across 7 colours

UNIQLO’s latest Fleece campaign isn’t a single story. It’s two winter days running in parallel: actor Kriti Sanon in a slower, home-and-out routine, and cricketer Jasprit Bumrah in a more active, on-the-go one. Both are selling the same idea — fleece is not just for one kind of day.

The hook

The first seconds don’t open on a product claim. They establish a winter texture and a familiar face in the middle of an everyday moment. Sanon’s film begins closer to home; Bumrah’s film starts with movement. That split is the hook: before the collection is explained, the viewer is already comparing two lives.

The structure of the film

The campaign is built as companion films. Sanon anchors the quieter side of the range in the Fluffy Yarn Fleece Jacket, Pile Lined Fleece Relaxed Cardigan and Windproof Fleece Reversible Full-Zip Hoodie. Bumrah carries the active edit in the Fleece Full-Zip Jacket, Bi-Colour Fleece Zip Jacket and the same windproof hoodie.

That repeated hoodie is a small structural choice with real payoff: it gives the collection a hero product across both films. The LifeWear proposition keeps the focus on occasions rather than technical specs. Nidhi Rastogi, marketing director at UNIQLO India, puts it simply:

“Fleece has long been an important part of our LifeWear offering because it delivers on these needs in a simple and accessible way.”

Why it spread

The spread comes from the crossover. A film actor and a fast bowler are not obvious bedfellows for a winter basics ad, and that mismatch is exactly what makes fans stop, react and tag. The two-film structure is also built for short clips: each routine can be sliced into a standalone reel or placed side by side without losing the point.

The casting gives each fan base a different reason to share. Sanon’s audience passes on the styling; Bumrah’s audience passes on the active-wear credibility. Neither side has to work hard to explain why the campaign fits.

The numbers

No view counts or sales figures have been shared in this report. The clearest number is the range itself: seven colourways — natural, olive, navy, off white, dark brown, pink and wine — across the different fleece styles.

Steal this

Three moves for a smaller brand:

  • Cast for contrast, not just category. Pick two faces who share a need but not a demographic; the mismatch widens the audience and gives people a reason to tag.
  • Repeat one hero product. Use the same item in both edits so viewers leave with a single piece to remember.
  • Let occasions do the selling. Show the product inside daily routines instead of front-loading features, and you earn the right to mention function later.
