Amazon Black Friday Deal Submissions Close Today: 4 Checks

Amazon's Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal submissions close today, October 20. Four checks decide whether a submitted deal actually runs.

Amazon Black Friday deal submissions close today: 4 checks

Today is the last chance for Amazon sellers to submit Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for the 2026 holiday sprint. Amazon’s Seller News reminder, published October 8, says the submission window that opened on July 8 closes October 20. If you are reading this after the cutoff, new deals for those events are not getting in.

Submitted does not mean live

Amazon pairs the deadline with a four-item checklist. A deal can sit in the Deals dashboard and still fail to run if these baseline checks are not clean.

  • Account Health Rating: clear policy warnings or violations.
  • Deal health status: fix suppressed or at-risk deals.
  • Listing quality: active listings that meet quality requirements.
  • Payment and tax settings: current and complete back-office details.

The notice is deliberately short. It does not define what Account Health Rating blocks a deal, what makes a deal ‘at-risk,’ or whether a failing deal can be repaired after the deadline. In the final hours, that ambiguity is the risk.

What actually suppresses deals

E-commerce consultant Vanessa Hung expanded the checklist on LinkedIn on October 19. Her entry is blunt: ‘Plot twist, today is your last Black Friday planning day.’ She points to the usual suspects behind suppressed deals: low inventory, a price that no longer meets deal requirements, or a listing that stopped being buyable. Hung’s advice is to fix the cause before resubmitting, not to recreate the deal and hope.

Price is easy to miss. Since April 23, 2026, Amazon validates List Prices against outside evidence, and Prime Exclusive Discounts are re-checked every 24 hours. A deal can become invalid mid-run if the reference price shifts.

Why the cutoff hurts late movers

Every deal submitted today carries the full fee: $100 upfront plus 1.5% of promotional sales, capped at $5,000. The $50 early-submission discount expired September 5. Peak fulfillment fees also started October 15 and run through January 14, 2027, adding roughly $0.32 per unit on average.

For advertisers, a suppressed deal has a second cost. Sponsored Products budgets keep sending paid clicks to an ASIN whose badge or strike-through price has disappeared, which changes the economics of holiday media planned around a specific offer. Adobe forecasts $12.9 billion in US online spend on Black Friday and $15.1 billion on Cyber Monday 2026, so the stakes are not small.

Your 24-hour audit

If you still have a window, run this order: account health first, then deal health, then listing completeness, then payment and tax settings. Confirm your ASINs are buyable with complete titles, images and bullets. Then check every ad campaign tied to a deal price, so you are not paying for clicks to a weaker offer.

Amazon claims early movers get ‘better deal visibility and placement,’ but the post gives no mechanism or figure, and independent research on lightning deals has not tested submission timing. Treat the deadline as the hard constraint it is, not the early-placement promise.
