TikTok Shop adds 9 Compass analytics tools for US sellers

TikTok Shop rolled out nine Compass analytics tools for US local sellers in October, covering ad data, subscriptions, orders, search and creator attribution.

TikTok Shop adds 9 Compass analytics tools for US sellers

TikTok Shop just gave US local sellers nine new ways to see where money comes from—and some fine print that keeps those numbers from becoming an accounting system. The updates landed in Business Compass, the analytics area of Seller Center, and were published in a November 2 roundup under TikTok Shop Academy’s product update digest.

The scope matters: these tools apply to United States local sellers, the same group TikTok moved onto its own logistics services after Seller Shipping ended on February 25, 2026. So a chunk of operational detail is now concentrated in one dashboard.

What’s new in Compass

The nine capabilities break into five groups: video and LIVE analytics, subscription and order analytics, search and promotion data, brand audience reporting, and the Partner Center API. The most useful for performance marketers:

  • Video ad context: video performance now includes ad information so sellers can assess how paid promotion contributes to the store, though TikTok doesn’t publish the exact fields.
  • Creator vs seller attribution: Order Analysis in AI Report drills down to order and SKU level and separates seller-attributed GMV from creator-attributed GMV.
  • Subscription churn: the dashboard adds cohort retention, cancellation reasons and subscription period analysis.
  • LIVE by start time: key LIVE metrics can now be aggregated by session start time, making slot comparisons easier across weeks.
  • Search and promotions: rankings for shops, products and trending terms join “Mix and match” promotion analytics.

Brand sellers also get an audience data export, but only for a slice: the roundup tags it “select eligible brand sellers only (SKM A1/A2)” without explaining the tiers. Developers gain batch queries for video details in the API.

Where the gap is

This is a feature list, not a specification. The video ad update names no paid metric and no organic-vs-paid split. Search rankings arrive with no methodology, refresh cadence or volume figures. The brand export tiers and several subscription definitions are deferred to Seller Center or left unexplained.

TikTok Shop’s closing note frames the reports as “reference material” for sellers to check against their own orders. The Order Analysis guide goes further: it is “not a substitute for settlement statements, contractual terms or financial records.” That is not a throwaway disclaimer. For a seller or agency using creator-attributed GMV to pay affiliate commissions, the platform is saying in advance that Compass will not settle disputes.

How to use it without over-trusting the dashboard

The practical move is a three-step check: capture the new signal, ask for the missing definition, and reconcile with an independent source before changing spend or inventory.

Use cohort retention to catch first-time subscribers who leave after the first discounted delivery. Use LIVE start-time aggregation to compare slots before committing stream hours. Use seller- vs creator-attributed GMV as a directional input for affiliate negotiations, not as the final payout. When a metric lacks a formula, ask TikTok Shop to document it—silence on methodology is where wrong decisions hide.
