What 26M Halloween Creator Views Teach You About Campaigns

Seven Halloween creator campaigns, including Fanta's 26M-view hotel stunt, show how to turn seasonal reach into measurable action. Here's the brief.

What 26M Halloween Creator Views Teach Marketers

Halloween campaigns are a pressure test for influencer briefs. Fanta’s Haunted Hotel proves the point: Megawatt reports 13 influencers generated 26 million views across Instagram and TikTok, and the content fed a consumer competition across 640 Jumbo stores. The reach is flashy, but the mechanics matter more for marketers turning seasonal attention into business results.

Start before plans are locked in

NRF’s 2026 US survey found 49% of consumers planned to begin Halloween shopping in September or earlier. At Home acted on that with a May–August 2025 creator program around Halfway to Halloween and summer activity. Eight influencers produced 85 content pieces and generated 1.4 million organic impressions from May through July.

The catch: this worked because At Home already had a visible spooky-decor community. If early demand is weak, run a limited test before moving the full calendar earlier.

Give the product a visible job

NYX Professional Makeup’s Mon-Star Bash, announced in September 2023, reimagined Universal Monsters through makeup. Mimi Choi created looks for talent including Landon Barker and Reginae Carter, backed by a limited product collection. Lyle’s Golden Syrup took a different path: 12 creators, mostly on Instagram, made Halloween recipes that put the product to work. Upfluence reports 2.5 million Instagram impressions, and the brand secured rights to reuse creator assets.

Both approaches worked because viewers could understand the product’s role. If removing the product barely changes the idea, the brief needs another pass.

Connect attention to the next step

Chipotle’s 2019 Boorito contest brought in Zach King and Brittany Broski to demonstrate before-and-after costume transformations; the five most-liked eligible submissions could win free burritos for a year. OREO’s cookie carving content, including work by @thesqueakymixer, used paid Meta distribution to move shoppers into a retailer’s cart system. New Engen reports $810,000 in total cart value and a 10.7x cart return on investment. Hobbledown’s family previews, supported by PHA Group, helped parents evaluate a real outing before booking.

A useful campaign makes the audience’s next action clear: enter, buy, book or redeem. Views alone are not the outcome.

Six points for the next brief

  • Name one primary goal and the audience action that demonstrates it.
  • Define the activity and the product or experience’s role.
  • Agree what creators must show and where they have discretion.
  • Confirm availability, approval deadlines and the publication window.
  • Test the destination and assign tracking and reporting.
  • Set deliverables, usage rights, disclosure and fulfillment.

When time is short, simplify the promise. A sold-out event or unavailable product cannot be fixed with more production complexity.

The strongest Halloween campaigns did not chase every metric. They picked an action, gave the creator a clear product role, confirmed availability, and reported the result they could substantiate. That discipline is worth keeping long after the decorations come down.
